Realize
You joke, sure, its no big deal
But you can’t see
How it makes me feel
You don’t get what it does to me.
It hurts, especially in my chest
And its not my lungs
But under my left breast,
Like I got shot with thirteen guns.
But I still love you.
And I keep returning
No matter what you do.
When I’m with you my heart is burning.

Hurt by Words
You sit there playing your stupid mind games,
Not realizing what you’re doing to those around you.
You think “hey it’s just a joke” and “I didn’t mean anything by it, babe”.
But you, you fail to see the pain in those words,
The way they stab me in the heart.
The way they cut deep, real deep.
They cut into my heart, almost deep enough to slice right through it.
But then the sweet, sensitive words that you say,
In apology are the ones with the most meaning.
And those words, the ones you say to me,
Are the ones that bring tears to my eyes,
Tears of happiness and joy.
And that is why, my dear, you must always watch what you say,
Especially to the people you love most.
